Jacqueline Orr was born in 1961 and studied at Glasgow School of Art under artists John Cunningham, Jack Knox, Barbara Rae and James Robertson

Jacqueline Orr has two distinct types of contemporary paintings. Firstly small finely executed paintings using acrylics and gouaches. Secondly Jacqueline paints large scale canvases that hint at abstraction.

Jacqueline Orr is the recipient of numerous art awards including: Alexander Graham Munro 2008 Award, Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour; Armour Art Award, Royal Glasgow Institute Of The Fine Arts and Armour Prize, Glasgow School of Art
