''Lemon Tea'' is a thoughtful collection of objects and memories chosen carefully and deliberately by contemporary artist Liz Knox. Her use of contrasting strong colours highlights the items chosen and leads us into her painting as if we are following a series of clues. Her use of a ''flattened'' perspective gives further emphasis to her subject as we observe not only the objects but their setting and position in detail.
Taking about her paintings Liz Knox says: ''There is a personal reaction to the subject. The still life and outdoor works are my response to the subject on a particular occasion''¦ It''s to do with thoughts, random thoughts, daydreams, reminiscences, the scattered disconnected ephemera that skips back and forth in the mind. Sometimes there''s a span of years between one end of the connection and the other.''
