British Contemporary Artist: George Devlin
Painting: Moorings on the Herault
George Devlin has had a rich and varied career with his painting taking him to many different countries. In 1968 Devlin was awarded a major Arts Council Award and established his own painting school, initially in Scotland but later relocated to France.
Moorings on the Herault, set on the Herault River in Languedoc-Rousillon, shows Devlin''s love of waterscapes. His treatment of the River Herault and the great expanse of summer sky with small scudding clouds reflects the light and space found in Southern France.
The scene appears very peaceful and calm. This is an impression created by George Devlin''s skilful composition and delicate brushstokes.
In addition to Red Rag Scottish Art Gallery George Devlin has exhibited at other leading Scottish Art Galleries. Each painting at Red Rag is sourced from the George Devlin artist studio and like all Red Rag Scottish art and Contemporary art it can be shipped worldwide.
