A surreal Sniffy scene with a horse in a fine classical house.
As with many of the ‘Sniffy’ series Hargan plays off traditional art with contemporary arrangements. In the background are three classic Canaletto works of St Mark’s Square, Venice. On the fireplace sits a glass of wine, fruits of your labours.
The scene of the Piano, Sniffy, cat and other objects are constructed as a contemporary art assemblage. The jelly on the Piano gives the name to the painting ’Just Deserts’. Sniffy lies inebriated with glass in hand "deserved reward’.
