British Contemporary Artist: George Devlin

George Devlin has a significant reputation for his Marine and Landscape paintings. This painting of a Scottish sailing club is dominated by the bright coloured sails of training yachts and their watery reflection in the wet sand. There is movement and busyness around the boats as the sun sets and shadows lengthen.

George Devlin shows great skill in the composition of his paintings, drawing in and involving the viewer in his world. His paintings are very much in the tradition of the earlier Scottish colourists.

In 2004 George Devlin became a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI) as well as elected as a member of the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA).
