''Reaching the Cabin'' is an atmospheric painting from Orkney-born artist Stuart Sim. Figures are glimpsed dimly through mist and snow as they make their way to a wooden cabin. We can only guess at their story.

Using a limited palette of colour and loose brushstrokes Stuart Sim creates a sense of the wind and cold experienced by the people in the painting.

Influences on Stuart Sim and his paintings include artists: Titian, Turner, Bonnard, Kitaj, Matisse, and Hopper. Sim has won a number of art awards including Arnold Clark Award from the Paisley Institute of Art.
