Born in 1931 James Robertson has had a rich and varied career. From his training in Scotland to his many exhibitions. Robertson’s paintings are found in many prestigious private and corporate art collections.

James Robertson is best known for his paintings of land and seascape. For centuries, the seas around the coast of Scotland have been a source of endless inspiration for artists. Desolate island beaches, expansive oceans, wildlife, wilderness and the people's relationship with the sea have all played their part in building a visual history of Scotland through the eyes of its artists.
